Abstract

Operational efficiency enhances productivity, reduces costs, and improves overall competitiveness and profitability in manufacturing companies. Consequently, research investigates the influence of just-in-time, artificial intelligence, software automation, and big data analytics on manufacturing companies' operational efficiency with the mediating effect of risk management. Data was collected via a self-administered survey instrument from 340 employees of manufacturing companies. The research design was cross-sectional and the research approach was deductive. Both SPSS and AMOS software were used for analysis. Structural Equation Modelling results indicated that both direct and indirect effects just in time, artificial intelligence, risk management, and big data analytics positively and significantly affect the operational efficiency of manufacturing companies. While software automation directly and indirectly affecting insignificantly to operational efficiency. This research with the findings expanded the prior literature by demonstrating the significant influence of just-in-time, artificial intelligence, risk management, and big data analytics on operational efficiency except for software automation. Practically, the study contributed that manufacturing firms should prioritize the adoption of artificial intelligence, just in time, risk management, and big data analytics to enhance operational efficiency while re-examining software automation strategies for better integration and impact. This research is the first time to test the mediating effect of risk management among big data analytics, Just-in-Time, artificial intelligence, software automation, and operational efficiency in manufacturing companies which offers novel insights into their interrelationships.
