Abstract

This study investigates the integration of big data with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles within healthcare organisations, focusing on how data-driven strategies enhance sustainability and governance outcomes. The research seeks to evaluate the impact of extensive data utilisation on ESG performance, considering factors such as organisational size, geographical location, and regulatory frameworks. Employing a quantitative methodology, the study analyses secondary data from global healthcare databases and ESG performance indices. Multiple regression analysis, incorporating control variables, was used to examine the relationships between extensive data usage and ESG performance. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between big data utilisation and ESG performance, identifying big data as the strongest predictor. Furthermore, regulatory frameworks and organisational size also positively influenced ESG outcomes, underscoring the importance of both external and internal factors in advancing sustainability initiatives. The model accounted for 72% of the variance in ESG performance, demonstrating the critical role of data-driven decision-making. In conclusion, big data serves as a pivotal enabler of ESG integration in healthcare, facilitating optimised resource use and enhanced governance practices. The study suggests that healthcare organisations should prioritise investments in advanced analytics and comply with regulatory standards to strengthen their sustainability and governance efforts.
