Research on Sustainable Operation Management in Highly Polluting Industries: How Environmental Information Disclosure Shapes Long-Term Corporate Value

This review paper aims to systematically analyse the impact of environmental information disclosure management on long-term corporate value in highly polluting industries. It investigates how various pollution control technologies affect financial performance, regulatory compliance, and brand reputation, providing a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and challenges associated with effective pollution management. The review employs a bibliometric analysis combined with a comprehensive literature review to evaluate the existing research. Papers were selected from databases including Web of Science and Scopus, focusing on publications from 2010 to 2023. Keywords such as “sustainable operation management,” “pollution treatment,” and “corporate value” guided the search. The initial selection yielded 150 papers, which were screened based on relevance and quality. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 40 studies were retained for detailed review. Analytical techniques included citation analysis, keyword analysis, and network mapping. The review finds that effective environmental information disclosures significantly enhance financial performance through cost savings and revenue growth, improve regulatory compliance, and bolster brand reputation. Advanced technologies and proactive management strategies contribute to long-term corporate value, offering substantial benefits in terms of operational stability and stakeholder trust. This paper fills critical research gaps by providing a detailed synthesis of how pollution treatment influences various dimensions of corporate value. Its insights offer actionable recommendations for industry practitioners, supporting the development of more effective pollution management strategies and contributing to the broader field of sustainable operation management.
